The professional skills characterizing Robert St Amour F.Eng. is the result of  divers’ positions he occupied during his 25 years career among which:

  • His transition to the highest regional levels of management position for the Quebec  Ministry of Natural Resources public service, from 1984 to 1990 in public and private forestry management, plantations production, measurement, laws and regulations and controlled access to forestry roads.
  • A huge forest company (Tembec) entrusted him diverse responsibilities from 1991 until 1999, successively as a forestry director, forestry leader and a vice-president of forestry -supply.  
  • His personal commitment  from 2002 till 2006, to the operation and development of Bionor Inc., a PME (Small and Medium Business) making the second and third transformation of northern tree species, such as larch, white birch, black ash tree, quaking aspen and the balsam poplar. The development of those innovative applications allowed this enterprise to pioneer in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and in several others resource- regions of Quebec.
  • He invest himself as a consultant in diverse files such as the development of forest biomass and bio-energy in general, validating the intangible  values related to the fiber  supply  to forestry enterprise, the eco-advisory board, his involvement in diverse autochthonous files and the development and marketing of low used fiber ·

Furthermore, during the course of his career Robert St Amour was able to visit some of the biggest forested countries among which Sweden, Finland, southwest of France, Brazil and Chilly, where he was inspired to clear the path for forestry in general, but especially the transformation of wood, having to face Canada.
This vision of the development in the domain of the forestry allowed him to use ways considered innovative while they were until recently considered unrealistic.

On the other hand, his social and community involvement including his two transitions to municipal politics, his militancy within Abitibi-Témiscamingue forest Association as well as his voluntary involvement  in a socio-economic environment  in his community, allowing him to mingle with people of influence, to be up to date regarding  trendy tendencies susceptible to influence diverse  spheres of the  economy, including the forestry environment.

Finally, the development of his company, weaving links with a network of experts from various spheres of special services, allowed him to advise and offer his clientele a very high quality service at competitive prices.

Altogether, Robert St Amour’s path allows him to resolve problem not only under the product development angle, the operational, the selling or financing but indeed by integrating all these angles. His progress also convinced him that the future lies in small community’s accessibility, including the autochthonous communities, of technologies and small-scale projects allowing reducing their use of conventional energy while increasing jobs.
